I love all genres but the romantic comedy is probably the one I’m most familiar with. As we CELEBRATE Valentine's Day, I thought I would put together a list of MY favorite romantic comedies OF THE LAST 15+ years.
Judd Apatow/Esque

Judd basically invented the bro-com and while they can be crude, they're actually well written with great character and usually a lot of heart.
Knocked Up (Also Peak Judd Apatow)
Bridesmaids (So Well Written)
Trainwreck (Personally, Judd's Best)
Katherine Heigl

At one point, she was considered the new meg ryan and for the most part, I really enjoy her in the genre. And most importantly, she has a range within it.
27 Dresses (This is her at her best)
The Ugly Truth (Fun)
Life As We Know It (Adorable and my fave from her)
He's just not that into you (not Katherine but she's the only thing missing)
FWB/NSA

2011 saw the releases of two nearly identical romcoms that people still debate to this day. I enjoyed them both but upon a recent rewatch, I actually think another similar one that came out a year before is better than both.
Friends With Benefits (Tongue-In-Cheek, Stylish)
No Strings Attached (Fun & Cute raunch)
going the distance (Actually probably the best of the three)
Nancy Meyers and her dna

Nancy is the queen of the genre and created her own lane in it that people are still trying to recreate. her sophistication is unmatched and while there are many imitations there's only one nancy (one on my list comes really close and I love it just as much)
it's complicated (My favorite of nancy's)
Crazy stupid love (the perfect package, not nancy)
Recent faves

While the genre is having a resurgence, not all have been good but these recent ones give me great hope!
Crazy rich asians (loved it, traditional methods with new cultures)
Long shot (smartly written and very funny)
Yesterday (Heartwarming and fun)
almost forgot

i didn't have a bucket to put it in but i couldn't forget 2012's think like a man. i just adore and love this movie. Great setting, funny script and good conflict. one of my faves for sure. It's also the best of the "ensemble" romcom.
